Songs From The Deep

My primary role on this film was to replace the screens of computer monitors as well as insert CG satellite dishes into the backgrounds of several shots.

Screen Replacement

This film required many screen replacements such as this one. 

Satellite Insertion

This is one of the plates that required the insertion of a satellite dish. 

This is initial placement of the satellite with a small amount of haze added. 

This is the final composite after color correction, defocus, and additional atmospheric perspective. 

Satellite and Sky Replace

This was the opening shot from the film and required satellite insertions in the distance as well as a sky replacement. In order to get a solid camera solve I had to rely on user tracks in very specific portions of the image. This was due to a large amount of the frame consisting of moving water and grass. 

I started by painting out the structures in the horizon.

Next, I added the satellites, added some haze, and corrected the color to fit the scene. 

Finally, I put in a new sky. This was necessary due to the drone that captured the footage having very low dynamic range.
